More than just words.
Our goal was for the typography to not just convey words, but to be an integral part of the book’s artistic expression—seamlessly woven into every page as though it had always belonged. For the main headers, we selected a typeface with fluid characteristics, echoing the natural movement of ink. To complement this, a sleek typeface was chosen for the subheaders. Meanwhile, the body text is set in a delicate serif, inspired by the French Renaissance. For an added personal touch, certain titles and quotes are showcased in a hand-drawn typeface, personally crafted by me.
The colors of ANIMA.
Each chapter is meticulously crafted to resonate with the essence and ambiance of its corresponding element—Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Ether. We employed fluid color gradients to evoke a soulful presence, harmonizing with the predominant hues of that chapter.
“Amanda worked with me on the design of my novel. I already had a pretty good idea of the art direction I wanted, but having her experience & knowledge directing the project made the final product a masterpiece. Her graphic design has a clean, yet structured approach. Every detail has been rethinking and reworking. If you are looking for an artist who is able to understand and elevate your vision, you found your person. Amanda is professionally passionate, and that makes all the difference.”

“Amanda did the graphic design for the book Anima, published by Cardinal Editions in the spring of 2022. It was a real pleasure to work with her on this project. Endowed with a real creative talent, she offered us a graphic grid that was both sensitive and imaginative, perfectly adapted to the universe of the authors, and particularly strong. Her unfailing availability and adaptability, as well as her kindness throughout our discussions and the process, are also part of her many qualities. I highly recommend her work!”
